CHC’s involvement on the Elukholweni Farm School project has been an ongoing initiative. From literally grassroots intervention to the building new classrooms, rallying the community to participate and fund parts of the development. CHC partner, Wouter Van Der Westhuizen has taken an active part in project managing the developments and sits on the school governing body. It is only through initiatives like these that we impact our communities, help develop individuals who in turn impact society. There is so much good that is being done on the ground at this school that hope is brought into a situation where there seemed to be little if any at the plight of so many learners.
We would like to thank so many businesses who have answered our call to donate material and time to build these and other classrooms. We see the impact each and every day.
A special word of thanks to the NMMU’s (Nelson Mandela Metropolitan University) interior design faculty and students who are designing the interior, finding the sponsors for desks etc. and making it happen before school starts next term.
